A music festival with a history spanning decades, Moonsplash Reggae Festival is perhaps one of the best kept secrets of Anguilla. But for those in the know, this phenomenal annual music festival is a can’t miss event. The weekend long event is hosted by local and reggae musical legend Bankie Banks and his son Omari Banks at their iconic bar and event venue The Dune Preserve, a cavernous structure made out of driftwood and located right on the beach. Reggae artists from near and far come to jam and dance all day and all night during this spectacular festival. It’s definitely one of the best Anguilla events to go to!
Carnival
- Carnival is a celebration held all around the world in countries with a Catholic presence. While the festival typically takes place in the days leading up to lent, our island likes to mark the occasion a little differently. On Anguilla, Carnival is held in August, beginning on Jouvert Morning (or August Day). On that day, the island wakes up early and begins dancing through the street before enjoying other festivities, including boat races, street festivals, beach parties, and beauty pageants.
